RevGenerosity: Our Commitment to the Community

April is Global Volunteer Month. RevGenerosity is celebrating our commitment to our communities all month long

Founded in 1990, Points of Light has helped enable over 20 million hours of volunteer service every year. However, April is specially designated as Global Volunteer Month. Per their website, “Global Volunteer Month celebrates the power of people who tackle society’s greatest challenges, and build stronger, more vibrant communities through volunteerism and everyday actions.”

RevGen Partners is joining the celebration and we hope you will come along with us, too.

RevGenerosity is the philanthropic arm of RevGen and has been active in some form since the company’s founding over a decade ago. It’s in our DNA to support our communities though our time, talents, and financial resources. One of our core values is stewardship: thinking beyond ourselves to have a lasting positive impact. Working within our community is one way we can embody that value.

As part of this month-long celebration, RevGenerosity is providing employees with ideas and opportunities for getting involved in our communities as part of a team, individually, or with their families.

A calendar of ideas for Global Volunteer Month

The month opens with sharing a calendar of ideas and tips for volunteering, donating, and giving. Volunteering at an animal shelter, donating used books, and shopping with companies that give back are a few suggestions. Employees are also encouraged to participate in Dollars for Doers, a RevGenerosity program that amplifies the impact of employee volunteer efforts at nonprofits with financial grants.

“One of the drivers for me choosing RevGen as a place to start my consulting career is the philanthropy work I have been able to see through RevGenerosity. For me, an organization has to be as passionate about their CSR and philanthropy work as they are about their day-to-day work responsibilities. I find fulfillment and enjoyment in being able to support my community. RevGenerosity allows me that opportunity to live my personal values in combination with our organization’s values.”

In addition, members of the team are hosting a mid-month Lunch & Learn where RevGeners will discuss opportunities to get involved and share their own volunteer experiences. Zuma Rescue Ranch and Girls on the Run are just a few of the organizations where RevGen employees are actively involved outside of work-sponsored events.

The culmination of our celebration is a RevGen volunteer event. RevGeners will be joining Metro Caring to pack bags of food for distribution. “Metro Caring distributes 2+ million pounds of nutritious food to hungry families and individuals” a year throughout the Denver Metro area.

All of this comes after an extremely productive 2021. Last year, RevGen employees worked 100 pro-bono hours with The Gathering Place, harvested 156 pounds of produce in partnership with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, and assembled 50 care packages with over 1350 employee-donated items at our annual holiday volunteer event. This event is the most popular of the year and brings together employees and their families for a morning of volunteerism, hot chocolate, and enjoyment, another of RevGen’s core values.

While April may be the designated as Global Volunteer Month, our commitment to volunteering continues year-round. Living our values is full-time work, and that includes empowering our communities the same way we empower our clients — so that we may all aspire to be more. This mission drives what we do at RevGen, and the hard work of the RevGenerosity team proves just how important giving back is to us as a company and also to the RevGeners who consistently go above and beyond as volunteers.

Throughout the month, RevGen will be sharing ideas and activities on LinkedIn. We encourage you to follow us on LinkedIn to join the celebration.
